This is what I made for sanding the cork plates.
Comes in handy if you dont want to sand your fingers with it
Tape a large section of sanding paper on a flat surface, and sand away! easy and rather mesmerizing job to do
yes, I had some material left over from making that table

Re: Clutch Plate Thickness
My cork clutch plates (cork inserts from club spares) are 5.96mm thick each, while my bonded fibre plates (from D’fly) are 5mm thick.
Square 4 mk1, Square 4 mk2, BSA C12.
Re: Clutch Plate Thickness
Revive an old thread.
I’ve just put a set of new corks and cork springs into the VH. All went together well. Following on from Geoff’s instructions I left the plates to dry then put them under a couple of flyweels overnight.
The drags springs are quite a bit heavier and shorter than the club springs.
Also pulled the chain cover to check the shockabsorber nuts were tight and make up some fibre washers for the cover screws.
Adjusted up well and no issues with the pushrod length at 322mm long (BAP Box).
Yet to go for a ride but hopefully my heavy sticking clutch is behind me.

Re: Clutch Plate Thickness
For the plates used for the 3-speed Burman Q gearbox, I used a 1/4 size, for 4-speed it was too much and I had to use a smaller size
I made a tutorial for it in the past
