Ariel 4F/600 - 1932

Hello friends. We are working on engine repair for our 1932 Ariel. Today we completed the repair of the holes for the crankcase.
We managed to adjust the lower part of the crank mounting and we have repaired holes for bearings. I would now like to start manufacturing new bushings for the bearing, but I have to disassemble the crankshaft. Can anyone advise me if the crank needs to be specially centered after assembly?

Karol ,I believe you are asking about alignment of the pressed up crankshaft......I would expect it to run within .001" TIR,and as close to zero runout as possible.......I think anyone who could do this type of crankshaft work on an outboard boat motor could do similar work on the 4F cranks.......You seem to have plenty of engineering equipment available to you,and I doubt you will have any problem.

I set about restoring the pump and crank. so far so good. The new pump is also mounted with a drive. Crankshafts disassembled so far. We need to fix it to its original state. Someone put them in metric measures

I need your advice. We are working on a cut for the Ariel 4F / 600 from 1932. I will use the original set of Hepolite pistons with a diameter of 56.9 mm. What clearance did you use for the front and rear pistons of your 4F / 600?

I would use the clearances as specified in the Hepolite Fitting Instructions sheet but then run in carefully using running -in oil for 1000 miles. In my experience, the 4F OHC engine does not get too hot, but it suffers badly from being too cold in the winter, leading to condensation in the cam chain cover. I would not use an OHC 4F between the end of October and the beginning of March in the UK for this reason, unless I changed the oil after use.

today we made a new housing for crankshaft bearings. is abraded with an overlap of 0.02 mm
