Yes, there is a small taper on each cylinder of my barrel to help the rings get in, and this is original as it is the barrel that the bike left the factory with. It would have been hugely difficult to fit the rings without that taper.
Square 4 mk1, Square 4 mk2, BSA C12.

Hi folks; -

Much too late for this actual post but maybes this will help future browsers; -
I attach the sheet#2.pdf which is supplied with fitting details for the club Sq4 con-rods.
The skectch gives detail of the taper which should be present at the bottom of the liner for ring lead-in entry.
I suggest the implied 20 degree taper would definately be prefered.
