BA gearbox

Post by ian.scott »

Last Thursday on the way to one of our Wrinkly meets my 1935 Red hunter lost drive. Luckily I was able to freewheel back downhill to a pub to ring the AA . He arrived in about 45 minutes loaded the bike on a dolly and took me home. I have just finished stripping the box and found all the gears were OK but the 3rd/4th gear sector fork had destoyed itself for no obvious reason. It certainly was not short of lubricant ( what a disgusting job) so I shall have to strip the selector mechanism and fit another fork.
