Latest Posts. Are they listed.

Post by Les H »

I was wondering how to see the LATEST posts, irrespective of category. As it is, I have to open each category and even then I'm not sure what is new or old apart from having to check the date on each post. I'm pretty sure this sites software provides the facility to show all post as they come in on a list shown on the bottom of the Home page...Does it just need "switching on"?

There's 'new' posts though I'm not sure how 'new' is determined, then there is 'unread' posts, but I don't think you can see a list of posts sorted chronologically across all forums and topics. Might be a bit confusing?

I have my bookmark set to 'unread'. Works for me.
cheers

Thanks Simon and Paul. Yes Paul, the direct links method of clicking on the list of choices is very good. Both "New" and "Active" Topics are what I was looking for. They make keeping up with daily entries very easy. I'll be using that from now on. Very much obliged... :)

'New' posts are new posts since your last login (in chronological order) - but it doesn't retain any that you didn't read in previous sessions.
'Unread' seems to be all the posts you haven't ever read but for me it seems to be a bit too 'fuzzy' and includes far more than I'd expect.
(But I've no intention of examining it in detail just yet!)

Posts you have read have a blue icon at the left side of the page while the icons
for unread posts are red. There is a tab 'Mark Topics Read' at the top right of the
page for each of the main sections. Click on this and all icons will turn blue with
any new and therefore unread icons remaining red until you read them.

It took me years to work it out - it makes things so much easier.
