Bur the late cam has 1" base circle, early twin lobe 1 1/2" base circle, hence different pushrods

Having removed the pushrods to shorten them I now find that both are badly pitted near the ball end and removing the end may fracture them. So I am after a pair of alloy pushrods in good condition that measure 11 and 1/16th to the inside of the cup. The ones I have are 11 and 3/16 ths to the inside of the cup i.e. 11 and 5/16 ths overall. Failing that I might be able to cut down longer ones if they are sound.

Drags seem to be out of stock of all sizes.

For what it's worth the pushrod ends were listed as spares at one point:
1860-31 for the top and 1863-31 for the bottom. The listing implies that
they fit both steel and alloy pushrods.

They are not listed on the DraganFly website but there is a listing for the
tube to make your own from.

Problem solved? Well possibly.

I had some advice from Seb Mciver today who suggested I try the rockers without the valve stem hardened caps in place. Low and behold everything fits perfectly with the standard push rods.

I bought the refurbished head from Drags and Seb thought that Drags might have fitted hardened valves (with longer stems) doing away with the need for the valve end caps. So far, Drags have been unable to confirm this one way or the other. I am hoping they come up with an answer as I paid a small fortune for the head.

Given the corrosion on my pushrods I still need a pair of good 11 and 5/16ths alloy rods.

Hello Simon,
looking at the photo of two camshafts I was surprised to see some text in Finnish language on the blue can. I'm just curious to learn what is the product.

Well Drags replied to my enquiry and a quick test with a file on the valve stem seems to confirm that the stems are hardened. I also had good luck finding a supplier of push rods so things are looking up.

Received the push rods (new re-manufactured) today. They are well made and they fit.
Now another problem. The cheap, Indian rocker box caps are too shallow internally and the tappet adjuster, correctly adjusted, just fouls on the cap when the cap is screwed down fully onto the 'O' ring seal. I am hoping to get away with drilling out some of the inner face of the cap and using a much thicker 'O' ring.
