Is there an oil seal behind the crankshaft shock absorber on a 52 HV500?
I cannot see one in the Drags drawings.
If not, what prevents oil seeping into the primary chain case?
Many thanks,

Fit of spacer (behind sprocket) into crankcase is usually enough.

Thanks both. I queried it because some Ariels of that vintage have an oil seal in that location. I have the sprocket spacer and it is a close fit so hopefully minimal leakage.

There's usually NO problem there with oil seeping. Even if a bit did it would stay in the chaincase. Nev
