Pugh's of Ledbury Auction 5th May

Post by pete.collings »

Some Ariel items of possible interest at the auction, Sq4 Iron head (lot 562), Fieldmaster engine (lot 563).
Bikes in the auction the following day include a 1950 VB (lot 776), prewar single (lot 903) and a Huntmaster (lot 925)

No connection to Pughs, beyond having used them to buy and sell parts in the past.

Prices do seem to be getting softer, I suppose a combination of global financial crisis and riders not lasting forever is the root cause. Exotics do seem to be holding their own as ever as the recent Stafford auction has shown. (Maybe I'll be able to find a good 1930 Model F after all)

Hmmmm, yes prices are on the way to more realistic levels.
16K for a Vincent BL project, in parts alone it costs double that amount at the moment (no prices for asking me how I know :) )
The future is gloomy, possibly riders will have to buy the petrol from the chemist as like in the early 1900s .
Not so far away from where I am, the value of a classic bike wont even buy you a loaf of bread atm.
