Hi all.
I took these pics many, many years ago, certainly the early 80's.
Had a Blue Star at the time, not bad for an 18 year old i thought, but always loved sporty flat tanks.
All these years later i was going through some old pics and thought i would put it up for identification.
I presume it's a '26' but seems very special what with those unusual tanks etc.
The reg number doesn't come up on DVLA anymore.
Thanks in advance.
Dorian.
Help with bike identification if poss
Re: Help with bike identification if poss
A lot of reg numbers were robbed off old vehicles in the eighties.Often the numbers were worth more than the bikes.Sad but that was the times.

Looks like a 1926 Ariel Model D.

Cheers Paul.
Yes, had thought 26 ohv, at least originally.
The arrangement of the tanks, 2 piece 'flat tank' part and then another below the seat all looks very 'works'.
I have seen a pic of a OHC 26 conversion that has the same arrangement, may be the same bike at a different point in it's development.
Anyone know anything about Ariel 'works' racers of this period, or indeed any of the famed tuners?
Cheers....
