1936 ARIEL RED HUNTER 500 in Belgium

-no connection-

Fantasy price levels (sellers wet dreams) like this makes that others are led to believe they have -rusted- gold in hands
(see previous classified about a 37ish RH)

21.250,- GBP

O. K. I'll fire from the hip

For your twenty one thousend two hundred fifty quid you get :
- very nitpicking, but hey! at that price one can insist on a 100% correct bike -.

No lower chainguard, top guard to short,
No Thapex.
No Altette or it's brackets,
No AVC and it's cover (haha), Dynamo not connected, would it work at all? no wiring visible on the whole bike !
What is that rear brake light switch doing there , see above :D
Wrong kick (Triumph? cotter pin instead of clamp bolt, this wont work!) and gear (Burman GB?) levers,
Brooklands can looks nice but is -ofcourse- wrong, possibly this one is there to keep the lid from the toolbox closed.
Lower rear mudguard stay wrong way up.
Front brake has odd fixing to fork and uses a cable instead of a rod and postwar lever on brakeplate.(is that a prewar brakedrum?)
Front fork looks rather sagged, IMHO top links should be horizontal when bike is at rest,
- did I mention the position of the chamfered edge on the top links ? -
Petrol tank looks very nice, maybe too nice. Given the 'all show no go' appearence of this RH I would not be surprised if it is a Indian made one.

Verdict: cobbeld up, build to sell.

it is a nice old bike but where do they get the prices from :?: its only a old Ariel , its not a Norton or a triumph etc which you may pay them prices for
