FOR SALE VB31

Post by Kevin.Priest »

I have for sale my lovely 1931 VB in unrestored condition.
Unfortunately as It has acetylene lighting and this means i can not register it for normal road use in Slovenia where I now live so plans have changed and the bike will now be staying in the uk.
It runs fantastic and last European rally which was 2018 it completed over 1000 miles in a week without a single problem .
Used many times since as my goto bike for just local trips to the shops :D
If anyone is interested in it I would like £7500 for it .
Bike is located in Surlingham 7 miles South East of Norwich and I will be there from the evening of May 26th and leaving again lunch time on June 1st .
Can be viewed after that date but It will just take more planning.
I am not desperate to sell it however if i dont its going to be sitting idle in my dads garage for at least 5 years and then should we decide to stay in Slovenia which is very likely then I can't see me ever using it again.

sorry photos are not sales photos as i am in SLO and bike is in Uk .

Some reason 2 are upside down :D and not sure how to correct so click on them and i think it will save you standing on your head.

What is the problem with acetylene lighting and Slovenia?

There must be other old bikes there with the same set up?

Could you not rig up some LED lights and a battery?

Electric lighting only with stop light and all must work, same for Austria too and probably many other countries.
i can register it but will only be allowed on official parades which isn't my thing at all.
As far as altering it , I am really not into modifying my bikes especially original bikes like this
Couldnt even bring myself to change a 3 brush dynamo to a 2 on my VF

Different country Different laws.
Many European countries try and insist on day time lights.

Looks a very nice bike. That year has a magdyno and lights option if that is a major concern. The correct Lucas electric headlamp is quite rare. Nev

Nev I had thought about this but would I ever find all the parts 🤷‍♂️

Looks like I’ve got 2 people who want the bike just got to try to make sure they are never gonna make it shiny .
