It's more accurate, Roger, because Ralph Hawkins spent many hours checking it before we reprinted it. From memory I think we made around 20 changes.

The larger bulge will be for a KH. Strangely they used the same casting no. Both will fit a single.

I find that slackening the pump fastenings just a little whilst running the engine and then immediately retightening them, always sorted out air locks on singles.

In 1953 I was stationed in Bodmin in the RAF. The camp was at the top of a hill and at the bottom was a scrapyard very similar to the one pictured. We would purchase running bikes for £2 or £3 pounds, walk them up the hill under engine power and then race them around the outside of the parade ground...
