Hi Pete,
I think the brake plate in the photo is to be used in a plunger frame and not in a swingarem frame. The brakeplate for the swingarm frame uses a bolt instead of a slot to fix for the brakeanchor. Sean, am I right in thinking?
Regards Klaus

Re: Conrod bearing repair in germany
Hello Ralf, basicly any engine repairshop shoud be able to replace the crankpin and balance/true the flywheels. For a 1956 VH a 1" parallel big end is needed. If you get a replacement and provide it to the engine repair shop together with the worn crankshaft it should be manageble. If in doubt ...

Wanted: rigid frame for my 1938 4G
My 1938 4G had been modernized by the former owner using a slightly later plunger frame. I would like to bring it back to rigid backend. Any year type rigid frame would be welcome. I am happy to (part) exchange with my plunger frame.

I think the poor Nr 84 (1932 VH?) suffers from a broken rear stand return spring! He could have ordered one from Karol

Re: vintage photos of Ariel for pleasure
Hi Nev, I think you are absolutely right, at least if you live in hot Alice Springs. Maybe it takes a little longer in northern Norway in wintertime!

Re: vintage photos of Ariel for pleasure
These are great photos of the 1953 Ariel range! I was bicycling in Sardegna for a few weeks and came to a nice book about the history of Bologna. Inside was this nice photo of a device how to stop your house burn down using an Ariel. I wonder if this can be used nowadays to drive your Kaercher steam...

As you might have found out already, there was also a 2 cylinder Imme of the same principle. Very few were built though!

Re: Last Hardenberg Autojumble ever
Wow, this "Imme" is a nice and rare litte 100cc bike. It had been designed 40 Kms away from us and the manufacture was in Immenstadt near the austrian border. Immenstadt gave it its name "Imme"! Never seen a green Imme before!

Re: 1927 Advertisement in german
Volker, I am not sure if the slogan "the cheapest 550cc" bike is not to be regarded as a pure marketing aproach. Please see the list of bikes available in Germany in 1930. The cheapest 550 Ariel then (Mod A) was listed for 1350 Marks. There were some bike of german production below that le...

I found this 1927 advertisement today in an old book. Hope you enjoy looking at it as I do!
