When I started riding in 1951, it was easy. A motor cyclist was someone whose transport was a motor cycle. The Club has been contacted by a guy who has a large box full of Ariel spares he wants to get rid of. Each has a works drawing with it. They look like some sort of pre production parts and they are probably all different. Dave Owen thinks they may be Pixie. Anyway can anyone positively identify them...

In 1951 I passed my test on 1935 Ariel 350. Could have done it on Vincent V twin If I had owned one.

I have done many thousands of miles on singles, often over the Alps and always with a pillion. Never used anything but a 23 tooth sprocket.

My FH always eventually wet sumps. Years ago I put a thread in the bottom of the sump plate so a bolt could screw in. - It is a lot easier to drain surplus oil that way.
