Re: Headlamp shells for '56-'59 models

Well Dick, I have one in the shed, it's off my 58 . I pulled it out when I realised that I would have to alter (butcher) it to get my indicators to fit in. I had an old one with the switch holes so I cut 1 inch off the back of it all round. I then cut a circle of leather bigger then the area cut off...

Re: An Ariel on Bere Island

Good question , Barry, it is sometimes spelt on some maps Bear Island, and it is pronounced like the animal of the same name.

But aren't Ariels music to our ears? :D

Re: Flat Tyre

Just had a run up the M3 to Fleet on a job, no problem, everything felt just fine on the new tyres. Nerver thought of using talcum powder Pete, I hope that it will be along time before I get the chance.

Re: Flat Tyre

I have fitted new Mitas tyres front and rear with new tubes (£95.00) but will certainly get some stuff for the tubes as soon as possible as I would hate to suffer a front blow out as you did Steve. The back one was bad enough. The old rear tube had the valve stem ripped clean out. I struggled with t...

Flat Tyre

Hi all I was heading up to Birmingham to call in at the Selly Oak branch meeting as i had a job the next day in Stafford but as I was doing 60mph near junction 10 on the M40 my rear tyre let go. My seat has bite marks in it! And watch for brown stains in the road. It frightened me big time. When I f...

Re: Oil union gauze is broken

I fixed my tank tap gauze with this flux with electrical solder and a small blow torch, seems that the flux was strong enough to deal with it

Re: An Ariel on Bere Island

Well John, every Ariel should have an arial! I have a DAB radio in the box that hooks up to my helmet. Planet Rock whiles away the hours and cures most rattles!

An Ariel on Bere Island

Hi Everyone Thanks very much for getting this forum off the ground, here's a pic of my VH over on Bere Island in the south west of Ireland. My Mums from there and the ferries to the island are only very small so traveling by bike makes sense. http://ispltd.smugmug.com/Other/Ariel/IMG0492/1201434091_...
