Thanks Mick. It all makes sense now. I thought the hole at 9 o'clock might be a chain oiler needle, but couldn't figure how it dripped onto the chain! No exit hole! Now the light has dawned! I'm so grateful.

Simon, I've sorted this one last night by making up a new spacer to bring 10476-54 out by another 1/4". Thanks to my trusty old Myford, the job now seems to be done and the chain-line is ok. Thanks again.
