1957 Huntmaster Steering lock
One of the last jobs on my bike is to fit the new steering lock. I got one plus grub screw from Drags but there are two problems. Firs is that the lock will only go half way in as it has a very tiny step in it that makes it too large. Second is that the grub screw supplied is far too small for the h...

Re: Huntmaster timing side cover screws

Huntmaster timing side cover screws
I'm just about to refit the timing side cover on my Huntmaster restoration. I've got the 12 screws but not sure without a lot of trial and error as to which length goes where. Is there a diagram available? Any help much appreciated. Frank

Re: Magneto to plugs
Thanks Paul. I was a bit worried about that when I once got a couple of plug leads wrong on my first car, a Standard 10! The bang from the exhaust got the street out as they thought somebody was shooting. That was in the days when shooting in the street wasn't as usual as it is today.

Magneto to plugs
Probably a very naïve question but I haven't got a clue, so here goes. The rebuilt mag is now fitted to the bike and is giving a cracking spark. It is also successfully earthed to a push button on the handlebars to kill the engine. My question is, which of the two h/t terminals goes to which cylinde...

Re: 31340 switch and 308234 clip
Thanks for the reply and photo Mick. My control panel doesn't look like yours. There is no folded edge to allow the tips of the clip to engage; it is just a smooth surface with nothing to grip against. As the bike was largely in bits when I got it, and the original switch had disappeared, I'm not su...

31340 switch and 308234 clip
I've just got round to fitting the new 31340 switch into the instrument panel on my 1957 Huntmaster that I'm rebuilding. I've got the 308234 clip. but can't for the life of me figure out how the clip holds the switch in position. I'd be grateful for any advice, although I know I'm going to feel daft...

Re: stop light spring
Thanks for the reply, Simon. Useless in that it was too thick and I could hardly stretch it at all - almost solid. Also far too short to reach. I've been toying with the idea of making a fitting from 4ba rod with a turnbuckle in the middle to allow for fine adjustment. I'm being lazy; I've got the g...

stop light spring
I'm finishing off a restoration of a 1957 Huntmaster and have a problem with the small spring which connects the stop switch to the brake mechanism. The problem is, I don't have one. I ordered one from Drags and it is completely useless. Far, far too thick and very short. Is there a source for this ...

Re: Huntmaster side stand spring
Thanks for the picture and advice chaps. Hallelujah! How the ******* hell did I miss seeing that? It's there, in all its beauty. Either I take a trip to Specsavers or take up knitting. On second thoughts, Specsavers it is. Heartfelt thanks.
