Going through my mother's photo albums I came across some from the1987 Banbury including these three Ariels. Anyone recognise them?

No problem. If you look at the horseshoe and the Regd Design with the white centre it is obvious that with them being on a white background it would be easy for a manufacturer to fail to notice the white centre unless it was made clear to them. With regard to the Horseshoe transfer on the toolbox, that first appeared with a white centre on the 1950 models in the centre of the toolbox lid. It was not used in 51 or 52 but reappeared in 53.
