Calling Ohio!
I've been contacted by a guy in the US who has acquired an Ariel (well, most of an Ariel, in boxes) that looks as if it's never been used since it was in the showroom. This was found in Ohio - does anyone know of any Ariel dealers in Ohio back in the 1950s? The Club doesn't have any comprehensive li...

Re: Battery to suit Alton generator
Sorry, I’m really struggling to edit the pics to turn them the right way up! 1) Don't hold the camera/phone upside down when you take the pic (seriously). 2) I find that by examining the images in an image viewer, changing the orientation and re-saving, and then uploading the re-orientated image fi...

Re: Half time pinion nut
Ralf:
The gap between the pinion and the crankcase doesn't matter as long as the pinion is pushed right up against the 'step' in the mainshaft.
(You've had the crankshaft rebuilt and some of its overall dimensions might have changed!)

My clutch cables are always routed under the tank - for GB box and BA box. I've never had a heavy clutch.

Re: Wanted: Lucas Bulb Horn Bracket
Nearest bicycle shop?
(I don't think bulb horn mountings have changed much in the last 100 years, the mounting on the pedal-bike horn on my '55 looks very similar to the illustration, although I did buy that some 10 years ago now.)

In my experience, make 'em red hot (I used to go to scarlet red, not just cherry - but you might get away with cherry if you're quick...)

Re: Front mudguards
Will - as I understand it, rolling and closing the bead (edge) around a wire is a better then folding the edge over or rolling it into an open trough. I've decided it's time to revive a spare Arrow front mudguard from some early-type brake anchor forks. On one side the edge appears to be folded and ...
