It's that small screw in the crankca...

Re: VH Valve question
Ah - I thought you might have a dislike of the later 'standard' springs (Drags VS422).

Re: Daily Riding Diary on an Ariel
Cheddar - my neck of the woods.
Some cracking roads just around there and the ride through the gorge is a treat (as long as there aren't any tourists in the way )
Bit chilly today tho' unless you've got a nice big faring like that thar Ariel now has

Re: VH Valve question
Ian - by 'standard VH springs' do you mean the long outer ones that you're currently using, or the later shorter ones?

Re: Ariels Down Under
Red 'un,
8" TLS front brake and Norton forks.
Seems to have a rev counter, which looks like it might be only decorative.
Claims to have all new bearings and gears in the gearbox. New gears?
The use of an 86mm Ducati piston is very interesting.

Re: Primary case
That inner looks a bit weird in detail - it's very different from any I've seen around the oil-drip (to the back) for the secondary chain (look at the cast-in trough just below the screw-lug at the inside/back of Paul's KH). The inners for the twins have a 'step' to accommodate the wider crankcases,...
