Thanks Roger
That clears that up then, someone has ground down the spigot! Probably because they didn't understand the metal to metal mating surface principle of the Ariel.
My copper washer will address the problem.

Spigot length, 350cc Barrel for w/ng
Hi Im trying to chase down the reason why my head doesn't seat correctly on the top of the spigot. Measuring from the surface of the head into the step of the shoulder reads 3.86mm whereas the length of the spigot is only 3.26mm. Clearly, it is never going to mate! I am currently waiting for a coppe...

Halite washer - 1944 w/ng
Evening all,
My parts list shows a washer, p/n 580-34 'washer valve spring top collar', whereas Draganfly show the same p/n but listed as 'Halite washer under bottom collar'.
Does anyone know where the Halite washer should be used on a 1944 350 O/H?
Thanks in advance

Re: Steel chaincase cover/plate chaincase behind clutch
Oops, I see I have asked this question before.....
The answer is I need to find part 5705-43, or get some clever chap to make me one. Does anyone have any dimensions per chance?
Thanks

Steel chaincase cover/plate chaincase behind clutch
Hi I am finally getting around to preparing to fit the correct steel chaincase covers to my 1944 w/ng. Looking at the parts book, I am puzzled by part number 5705-43 - Plate, chaincase behind clutch. It looks like it takes machine screws that pass through the dome/chaincase/gasket. Is this correct, ...

Re: Play in head stock
Thanks Simon. It is definitely in the head stock, so it will have to come apart, but not now, to many summer runs to be had

Play in head stock
With the weight of the front wheel, I have play in the head stock which so can’t seem to adjust out. My bike is configured as shown in pic. I assume I release the lock but then tighten the lower nut, which I have tried. If this is the correct way?, then clearly I will have to strip it down and inves...
