Re: XMA 528

It isn't on the machine register but many owner's do not supply the registration number so it will help if you have the engine/frame nos, or at least year and model. I have listed it on the register so if it ever comes up you will hear from me.

Re: Engine query

I did a dating certificate for this bike in February 1998, probably for Mr Lemmon but I cannot be sure as my records are incomplete. The engine number was given as BK 897 rather than 497, which is a 1946 NG. The frame, XG 20758 is from a 1941 contract C10477 and was originally fitted with engine BH ...

Re: rear stand -new-

Draganfly have been making the rigid and plunger rear stands in the UK for at least 20 years. the legs are cast and machined before being assembled in a jig. If you want to buy an Indian one I suggest you take a look at an article by Richard Thomasson on how to modify one to make it work that appear...

Re: 1928 Ariel some wood and some tape ..

The factory records exist for the years 1927 to 1965 except for the first Leaders. They entries are in engine number order and as the frames were used in random order they are all over the place. However there is a frame index for 1928 so they are easy to find. Frame W5628 went to Dundee with model ...

1954 MKII for sale by auction

I have been contacted by the auctioneers asking me to let you lot know about this bike. Looks pretty well correct and original except for the oversized oil tank, missing tail light spacer, wrong tail light and missing front number plate.

Re: VF31 with double ball bearing crank -advice

The vertical ohv models are listed as having a 2 main ball bearings. They are also listed as having the rocker return springs 990-30 and 1000-30. The 'F' stamped on the crankcase mouth denotes a 'standard' engine as in 'F' as opposed to 'de luxe', stamped 'G' or later 'Red Hunter' stamped with 'H'. ...

Re: VCH.

1949 VCH production stared at CO101 and ended at 159, which makes 159-101+1=59 as the numbers are inclusive. However there are 4 blank entries although one of those appears in the 1950 listing and there is an 'engine only' entry. To confuse things this engine only entry is listed as a complete bike ...
