Fitting magnets to an oil filter.
I was reading a post about Sq4 sludge traps. There was lots of discussion! I can't remember who suggested it but.... I thought it was a good idea. The idea is to fit magnets to take magnetic particles out of the oil and stop them ending up in the sludge traps. I thought I would attach some photo's o...

Cheshire branch breakfast run
The attached photo is taken at Llanfair Caereinion narrow gauge railway station. Well worth a visit. A couple of years ago I had a return trip on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, it's a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Cafe is nice with friendly locals. I wish I'd taken a few more phot...

Re: Metallic Filler Recommendation
What about J B Weld, good to a constant 260°C with a maximum of 316 °C for 10 mins. I haven't used it as a body filler but it should be worth checking out. Otherwise you could use solder.

Mike Nash, just read your magnet idea for removing particles from the oil. I'm definitely going to fit some. Simple and inexpensive (cheap!), great idea.

Re: seeking Rear suspension spring for Sq 4 MK II Plunger frame
I wonder if the coil springs could be replaced with disc springs (Belleville washers). Standard washers could be used and stacked in different configurations to give the correct travel and load. I'm no expert on these types of spring, so we could do with some input from someone (an engineer) with kn...

Re: Security device for a plunger frame.
The bar just just passes through the two sidecar lugs, at least.... that's what I think they are! It doesn't touch the chain. The whole thing is welded together and is effectively one piece. I would have made it out of one piece, if I had a piece suitable. I might pick one up in Stafford... I have a...

Security device for a plunger frame.
I have a 1958 Sq. 4 with a plunger frame. I always use a lock and chain to secure it when parking up. There is a school of thought that you should have at least two locks. A lock and chain is pretty heavy bulky item, so I have made a lock to be used in conjunction with my security chain. The bar goe...

Re: Unobtrusive switch system for indicators
Hi jim.haydock, Re, fitting everything in the headlamp.... I have bought a much smaller relay, so it may fit..... When I get it all fitted, I'll post a few photo's to show everything working. Unfortunately... That is a few months away yet, as I'm working on another project at the moment!
