Re: 8 day replica clocks
Some photos and a clock face file. I down loaded the clock face from somewhere but can't remember who did the file originally. Apologies to who ever did the work. I also got my son to 3D print an adaptor to make it a snug fit in the tank panel. I was just being lazy as I could have turned it! Crickl...

Re: 8 day replica clocks
I bought a 55mm quartz clock off Amazon for £7.99 and a face off a guy on Ebay, karuz83. He doesn't have any for sale at the moment but you could try contacting him. The face was a little bit big and I had to skim it down. There was a file to print your own face on this forum... I think. I have got ...

Re: Sq4 Valve Timing
I spent many happy hours getting my Sq 4 valve timing spot on. In the end I cut extra keyways in the cam sprocket. I can't quite claim it's an original idea... As Triumph used this idea for many years. I could have done lots of calculations and used a dividing head but... After working for days gett...

1930 London to Lands End Trial Ariel Square 4 first!
I was looking at an Ariel Sq.4 article on the Motorcycle Classics web site. To quote the article.. "The machine met with success. During the 1930 London to Land’s End Trial the Square Four placed first." Does anyone know anything about this? https://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-briti...

2020 LDR Rally, TV show and Ariels
The 2020 LDR Rally is in Cornwall and coincidentally... I watched Henry Cole's Motorbike Show last night. It contained a feature on a Cornish ride and also Sam Lovegrove on his Ariel. It's available on catch up at https://www.itv.com/hub/the-motorbike-show/1a9745 I went to Cornwall this year and hav...

Re: Ariel club badge.
Vincent.vanGinneke , thanks for the tip about the sand dropping in the mould. It was definitely the cause of a poor finish. I'm starting to get a bit better. I also altered my pattern to take away the sharp corner. This helped the mould to stay together and not drop sand.

Re: Ariel club badge.
I tried homemade green sand to start with... Not a good enough definition to get all the detail on the badge, so... decided to invest in some Bromsgrove Greensand 20kg from https://www.artisanfoundry.co.uk. It is a brownish red fine sand but I don't think it's Brussel's earth. I needed to do quite a...
