Re: Ammeter not reading.

Err, ammeters should have negligible resistance - they pass the current straight through. Voltmeters should have infinite resistance.

Re: Honing Bores

Can any one advise if it is OK to hone the bores on my Ariel Arrow? I understand some two strokes have a particular finish which would be damaged by honing. You're probably thinking of "Nicasil" plated bores - which can't be honed. My BMW 100 GS has them. I think Nikasil is used to hard p...

Re: Another prat pulled out of the side road without looking

So sorry to hear this Paul, I hope you recover quickly. Its a shame about the bike but it can be repaired, we take a bit longer as we get older. I've lost track of the number of times I've had to "take to the grass" to avoid other traffic on the wrong side of the road (usually black Landro...

Re: Wanted: Rear Aluminium Brake Plate for 5-Stud 8" Rear Wheel

Sean, I'm back home now - this is what I have; Two brake plates for a swing-arm Ariel (though Roger will probably tell us that the casting numbers are for a BSA !). They are a perfect match for the MkI Lester Grant TLS brake so I think they are what you are after. Let me know if you are interested a...

Re: Wanted: Rear Aluminium Brake Plate for 5-Stud 8" Rear Wheel

I picked up two alloy rear brake plates (devoid of all fittings) at an auto jumble for £10 each. I think they are for the swing arm frames.
I'm not at home at present but I'll put some pictures up sometime after 5th August.
Hopefully they are what you're after.

You could have a word with Newman Cams, they will probably be able to re-profile them.
