Re: Huntmaster air filter box

Malcom Styles has made a few generic ones. The top section is solid, allowing you to cut out the relevant section to match your model. I don’t want to post his personal details on here but if you email me (st1050@hotmail.co.uk) I can see if he has any available and pass on his info.

Re: Panniers

Mike , Good suggestion but I Don’t think I want to go for hard panniers , Draganfly craven boxes look nice but I could do with the flexibility of swapping onto other bikes easily so think I’ll stick with the soft idea do you use the actual Kreiga duo sadllebags ?[/quote] Sorry for the delay in respo...

Re: Panniers

i use a series of Kreiga bags on my modern bikes, they are excellent and extremely versatile. Not cheap but you will struggle to find anything similar which is as good quality and waterproof. If you are looking for something more permanent, Draganfly have taken over Craven and are now reproducing pe...

Re: Square 4 meets 'white van man'

Horrible to see an Ariel in his state, but glad you are okay!

Sean O'Brian from the Lancs branch has been through a insurance claim recently where the bike was written off, may be worth speaking to him?

Hi Glenn, this may sound obvious but make sure there is enough play to allow for the difference in vibration between the frame and the rockers

Are they the cardboard coloured ones - much better than the green ones.

Have heard some people say not to use an adhesive for various reasons.

I've got a special tool for compressing the rivets, does a neat job and easier than messing about with a punch - also means a lot less swearing.

Araldite seems to be a popular choice.

What linings are you using?

Hi John, my VH one is buried someone but I can check when I'm home next weekend if no-one has confirmed for you by then. The rubbers are made by Jeff Hunter Engineering (0121 7451954), based in the Birmingham area, they make almost all rubbers for every British bike. His father who started the busin...

Fantastic Workshop Tip

Have you ever been stripping a bike down, only to have a spring fly across the other side of the garage, and other bits go flying. I have discovered the best way to get around this in the shed tonight! All you need to do is place a trip of dirty oil under the bike. Once this is in place, every singl...
