Re: Dimensions for the short stub section of a QD rear axle

Vincent, The one I have looks like 4332-56 so the length of the bottom section (widest diameter one) would be good. Out of interest I should also like the same measurement for the middle axle as this may be the one referred to on the ACME website as the 'short' stub axle. However, the threaded secti...

Re: Dimensions for the short stub section of a QD rear axle

Thanks for the replies. The Drags list of parts to convert BSA to Ariel full width rear hub kind of helps in that it lists the part number for the QD spindle but, without measurements, I do not know which spindle and stub axle I have. The main spindle has the right diameter for the brake plate and b...

Re: Web site seems slow to load replies.

Will,
Thanks for your reply.
I have just created a new post and that took over 20 seconds to load. It is only a few lines of text.
I am not complaining I am just making an observation in case there is an underlying problem.
Regards,
Dennis

Dimensions for the short stub section of a QD rear axle

Does anyone have the dimensions for the so called 'short' short stub axle for QD four stud full width alloy rear wheel, part number 4465-53? I bought a rear wheel for my 1956 NH and acquired the axle separately. Now that I come to assemble the rear wheel the chain sprocket stands proud of the wheel ...

Re: Is the torque arm stud on an alloy brake plate removable?

Paul, thank you for your reply. You may be right as the end of the stud inside the brake plate seems to be partly covered by the casting. The stud is not ruined and may still be useable. If I heat the stud to bend it that might melt the casting so I will leave it alone for now.

Re: Web site seems slow to load replies.

In fact the post above took 15 seconds from 'submit' to appearing as a reply. Normally, this process is almost instantaneous.

Web site seems slow to load replies.

For the last couple of days the forum web site has been very slow to load "Quick Replies" (!) from me.
I have no problems with other web sites and my internet speed is good, approximately 30Mb/s.
Has anyone else experienced this problem.
Regards,
Dennis

Is the torque arm stud on an alloy brake plate removable?

Is the torque arm stud on an alloy brake plate removable?
I have the full width alloy hub and the torque arm stud is bent.
Drags do not list the stud for sale or give it a number. They do list the torque arm nut 12689-54.
I have used heat and Plus Gas with no success.
