That explains why every now and then it kept pulling to the left; I think it was a bit scared to. :)

One more back on the road.

Well it’s taken a few years, but there is now one more Ariel back on the road. Just thought some of you may enjoy a ride around my block on it. Thanks for all the help I’ve received from the members here.

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum. I was in your shoes a few years ago when I was considering purchasing my first Ariel. The first thing I learned right away is that they are a blast to ride, but they can be quite pricey to maintain. Lots of parts are available for them but don’t expect to pay Triump...

You guys sure have given me a lot to mull over. What a great site with lots of knowledgeable people. At the moment I have no intention of restoring the bike to original. Just gathering good information about what is right and wrong with it at this point. Job one is to get it running properly again a...

Thanks for the info guys. I believe my front hub came off of an A16 but didn’t know that the front forks are wrong also. That’s one more thing to add to my list. This bike is turning into a bitsa right in front of my eyes. :)

My frame number is GS329 and the engine number is FJ332X (last of the iron heads). The e-bay engine number was stated to be FJ400X. No frame number was given. Could I have a VH tank on mine? Sorry for the poor photo but it’s all I have at my fingertips. http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr89/ohio-r...

49 SQ4 Petrol Tank

I’ve been searching lately to find out just how many original parts are still on my 1949 SQ4. There was a 1949 SQ4 on e-bay not long ago that was claimed to be all original and it looked as though it could likely have been. The one on e-bay shows the petrol cap offset to the left side and the speedo...

Let me give you all a little background of how my problems started out. Last year while on a ride one of the valve stem cups came off and I rode the bike several miles before shutting it down and the engine did get hot, but nothing I thought I needed to be concerned over. I repaired the valve stem a...

Well guy’s, finding a rebuild kit for my 627 Amal is proving to be a tough task. I even went to Amal’s site to see if a complete new one was available. Apparently not.

Can any one suggest another carb that would be a bolt on operation for this G4?
