Re: 1934 Ariel - in need of slight attention

May I just add that I have had a lengthy period of discussion with DVLA regarding my project during this year and they do seem to have a way of searching by VIN (chassis) number now. I originally provided the documentation for an age related number as my bike came to me with no documents, but when t...

Re: Magneto refitting oil seals. W/NG

I had one of the shaped metal washers with felt seal on one of my bikes, I replaced it with a rubber seal from Draganfly and it sealed better than the original fitment. Since used on two other machines and had no problems, just had to keep magneto tight against case, keeping correct chain tension an...

Re: DVLA registration request very slow

Paul, I have been in contact with Bennett but only to get an up to date dating certificate, which shows the complete bike left the factory in March 1950. The DVLA record shows date of first registration as April 1950 so I am hoping that I could apply for an age related number and get rid of that sev...

Re: DVLA registration request very slow

I wish I had the same good fortune. After waiting since August and having made several calls, I have finally received a letter from DVLA following on from their previous correspondence advising that my bike is already "on the system". They now advise that they will be issuing a V5c to me, ...

Re: DVLA registration request very slow

I applied for an age related number and after 4 weeks was told that the application was rejected because the bike was already on the system. They sent a V62 form to obtain a V5c in my name and the form says it should take 4 weeks to process but don’t call until after 6 weeks. I called after 6 weeks ...

Re: Ariels at auction

Roger, that was my late father and I do not remember that bike, could he have owned it a long time ago, like 1980s? As children in the 1960s and 70s, we were not told about most of the things done to get a bike on the road. I remember the local Bobby was around to check numbers sometimes, they were ...

Re: Single, Rocker box gaskets.

I also use the Draganfly aluminium gaskets on two bikes and use a thin film of a copper based sealant as it works at a higher temperature than Wellseal and the cylinder heads seemed to get quite warm. The alloy gaskets do not get squeezed out like paper or composite. I use copper gaskets on my Trium...

Re: Wanted: small AVC unit -just the outside-

Hi Vincent, I am finishing off my NH 1950 project and the regulator cover would be a nice finishing touch. Draganfly have no stock and I asked the single spares man Allan and he also has no stock. Are you considering another batch in the future? I don’t have the tools to make a nice looking piece.
