Re: Ariels at auction
Roger, that was my late father and I do not remember that bike, could he have owned it a long time ago, like 1980s? As children in the 1960s and 70s, we were not told about most of the things done to get a bike on the road. I remember the local Bobby was around to check numbers sometimes, they were ...

Re: Single, Rocker box gaskets.
I also use the Draganfly aluminium gaskets on two bikes and use a thin film of a copper based sealant as it works at a higher temperature than Wellseal and the cylinder heads seemed to get quite warm. The alloy gaskets do not get squeezed out like paper or composite. I use copper gaskets on my Trium...

Hi Vincent, I am finishing off my NH 1950 project and the regulator cover would be a nice finishing touch. Draganfly have no stock and I asked the single spares man Allan and he also has no stock. Are you considering another batch in the future? I don’t have the tools to make a nice looking piece.

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Just to finalise the thread regarding my search for a Lucas MCR2 regulator cover clip. I could not find a source of replica parts anywhere, there are a few originals around but sometimes it could be easier buying an old regulator just for the clip if you need one. I am grateful for the offer of a NO...

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Yes, we overdose on road salt but the bike was in a shed for many years before it became my project and I’m not sure how much salt was used in the 1960s. Oh yes, the shed had a very leaky roof and whilst it looked ok outside water got into the engine through the carb and an open valve also into the ...

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Thanks for the offer Chris, the height dimension should be 2 1/2” inside the hooks to inside the curved part that clips on the cover. The width should be 3” from centre to centre on the sides. I think your spare may be too tall? I’m going to try to make something but not looking forward to bending p...

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Fair point Nev, I have the same unit on my Triumph so measured it at just over 1.6mm, similar to Simon’s information, not sure what that would be in SWG but piano wire in this size is easily obtainable and as I have one, I know the shape and dimensions. The long curve on the top will be interesting ...

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Thanks gents, seems that the clip is not commercially available so I will try to make one as Simon suggested but if not successful I will use a cable tie or two and hope a clip appears at some point.

Lucas MCR2 clip sought
Hello, I am finishing the wiring on my 1950 NH project and the old Lucas MCR2 regulator will not work again as it’s really badly rusted inside. I have removed the parts and fitted an electronic replacement as these have worked well for me on other bikes. Problem is that I do not have the U shape spr...
