Re: wanted

Hi I needed a chainguard for my 58 FH restoration, bought a repro one from Draganfly. Not cheap and did require a bit of 'fettling' but pleased with the outcome. If you decide to go this way, I strongly suggest trial fitting before painting ;) FERC Fixing.png Regards Mick PS. Ignore the arrows, they...

Re: FH Engine Breather

Hi Simon

Is there enough room to direct the breather onto the inner face of the sprocket? There's no other obvious access to the inside of the FERC that I can see.

Hi

Do you mean a 'knot board'?

PS. I'm not able to open your link above, is this because I'm not an AOMCC member?

Re: Major oil leak from rear enclosed chain case

Hi Paul When I blocked off my oiler I used an expanding plug in place of the felt wick. I think it was the rubber sleeve from a 'Dremel' type small sanding drum mandrel and a couple of suitably sized washers, a screw and bolt, (sorry can't find a photo of it), but it's easily removed if needed and s...

Re: Major oil leak from rear enclosed chain case

Hi

It's worth checking the gearbox oil level too - a leak via the sleeve gear bronze bearing can manifest itself in the FERC.

Re: 1934 Ariel - in need of slight attention

"LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN REPAINTED READY FOR REBUILD BUT THEN STORED AWAY SO HAS SOME SCRATCHES & MARKS TO THE FRESH PAINT." Economical with the truth or what!! Blasted and painted within the last two weeks, (in preparation for sale), then accidently scratched when putting it in the shed, d...

Re: Big end nuts

Hi Simon Apologies if I'm reading the photo incorrectly but: The washer appears to be of too small an OD, it should be at least the same size as the pressure face of the nut, (it looks considerably smaller and risks crushing the alloy bearing cap). The washer is a lot thicker than I remember mine to...
