Re: A question for VH owners
Hi Michael,
Interesting to hear from you.
Not very difefrent from my setup; I have a 7.5:1 piston and HS vam from Drags.
I am using 1 3-1/2 slide as well.
By port matched I assume you mean the carb is the same dia as the inlet port on your machine?

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2021
Steve, tell me more about the 930 concentric............. Is this what was fitted to your VH ? Are the settings unchnaged as you are using it on the VB, at present? I'm upsetting a lot of horse riders when Betsy belches, just when i don't want her to! Next time you're in the area, give me a bell and...

Re: A question for VH owners
Hi, Sorry I didnt't explain myself well. The 928 is what Burlen (Amal) supply, as standard, if you ask for a concentric for a VH. The pilot jet numbers are those that correspond to the premier concentric, which has a removable pilot jet fitted opposite the idle mixture needle (screw). My curiosity i...

A question for VH owners
Hi, My bike goes quite well but I'm not sure about the carburation / size of the carb. The inlet port had been bored out by a previous owner and so I have a 930 Amal concentric fitted, not the usual 928. The long and short of it all is that I can't get a godd steady tick over even though I have trie...

Re: Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2021
Hi Steve, I'm curious to know how well a sidevalve goes......... A lot of people changed out the engines, but, they must have been good else Ariel wouldn't have kept making them for so long. I guess they must pull like tanks! Went to Loomies yesterday (got the afternoon off of work) and went with a ...

Re: Dynamo not working
Hi, For what it's worth.............. I had no end of problems until I finaly discovered that the problem was within the old regulator case. I had soldered the DVR2 wires to the terminals from which I'd disconnected the old mechanism, not taking into account that these had been riveted to the furrul...

Re: Thread size and type - kick start ratchet nut
Hi Pete, Your input is appreciated. Who would ever thought that this simple question could result in so much uncertainty?! 7/8 inch Cycle (as per drags website) thread it is not, nither is it 1/2" Whitworth (i've tried this). I'd side with you on that it is most prabably 20 TPI cycle thread, bu...
