Hi, I have striped my 1954 VH 500 top end to check it over before it goes into the frame and I found that the alloy head has a chip in the recess (see attached photo). To my way of thinking the best thing to do would be to fit a cylinder head gasket. I have tryed Dragonfly but they don't stock anyth...

I have 1954 VH 500 engine. It has an aloy cylinder head so will it need a head gasket? I have read about grinding the head to the barrel but if the barrel is cast iron and the head aloy surely it can't be a good idea!
Any opinions on this please

Hi, This my seem like a daft question but what size threads are used on my Nh350? (U.N.F. or U.N.C. etc).
I'm in the process of blasting and painting and will need to clean out the threads.

Hi, This might sound like a daft question, but can I fit my VH 500 engin into my frame with the barel and cylinder head removed and then fit the barel and head?
I took it out in one piece but it's so heavy, when I paint the frame I am shure scratch the new paint refitting it in one piece
