Re: Chrome Platers
ACF Howell in Walsall. First saw them on TV on a program about restoring VWs, they triple plated my Jones rims for £ 70 each, and lots of other stuff done too. Honest with delivery times and well used by car and bike fraternity

Re: My HT
Hi chaps, thanks for the suggestions but I think its just had a fall at some stage. The rear brake pivot is quite twisted back and I tweaked the pedal in a little to correct this. I would have bent the pivot itself, but as it was a temporary repair, I didnt want to chance that the pivot weakened fur...

Re: Change in UK SORN/insurance law
I nearly got caught out earlier this year, I didn`t realise that SORN ends when a bike is sold and must be re-SORNed by the new owner..After owning the bike for the best part of 12 months, when I put my HT on the road it turns out that the SORN expired at time of purchase, and only a grovelling lett...

Hi Robin, I already have a needle roller big end ready for the C15, I just worked out that at Alphas` prices I had £300 labour to play with and that got me thinking about DIY. Not as a bodge, I know its not just one-in ,one-out, but something that was feasible to do myself with the right tools. I re...

Thanks chaps, I took my idea of costs from Alpha quoting me over £300 to sort the HT out, if PES will do it for £30 its not worth me attempting. I have come across Mark Cook on the B50 forum a few years back when I was building my Trials C15, haven't been on there for a while so never occurred to me...

Big Ends
What are peoples experiences doing their own big ends? I`m not bad in the workshop, and have one to do on my HT, and one on a C15 Bsa, both obviously requiring a press, so thought I might buy a suitable press and have a go. I`ve got a DTI and quite a few hammers, what could possibly go wrong? ! I he...

Re: My HT
Hi all, thanks for the nice welcome. Re Dave Pitt, I stopped and chatted to `Doug`(?) recently, lives round the corner from me on Peterbrook Rd, Solihull Lodge, Pattern Maker by trade I think, has a Huntmaster and another twin ( Buddy Holly special I think he called it! nice chap), he mentioned Weat...

Re: My HT
Hi lads, I think the alignment was caused by the previous owner falling off on the dirt, it rides fine though and doesnt go anywhere if I take my hands off the bars. In fact I was pleasantly suprised by the road handling as I read in the Don Morley 4 stroke trials book that they dont handle, and I t...
