Re: One clutch thrust washer or two?
Even with the spring retainer screwed in fully, there should be enough movement in the spring to buffer the transmission shocks, in fact having the spring preloaded sufficiently could minimize jerking, assuming the spring is of the correct length and not weakened with age. I have experienced a rattl...

Re: One clutch thrust washer or two?
There should be two thrust washers, originally the one behing the chainwheel centre was plain, and the one in front had a ridge that located with the chainwheel centre ridges, but as these were no longer available, two plain ones could be used instead. On my Huntmaster, I screwed the spring retained...

Re: E3L Armature Thread Size
That looks is if it could be the needed screw, but the image is a bit blurred from being blown up in size. A good photo of the correct part, if someone on the forum has an example, would be preferable. Anyway, I'm sure you can find a resolution to retaining the bearing.

Re: E3L Armature Thread Size
Hi Mick I have looked at my E3L dynamo armatures, but do not have an example of the special bolt that hold the bearing felt pad and alloy disc, but from memory it is only partially threaded and has a slight taper to locate on the bearing end. Later armatures have a groove and circlip as a bearing as...

Re: Huntmaster oil union connectors
The bottom one is the feed, the top the return, this is the opposite way round to the singles, which can cause confusion! It is still wise to check oil is returning to the tank as soon as the engine is run for the first time......

Re: Nh350
Glad to hear dynamo is now working OK, I had borrowed a dynamo from a friend in case there were still problems, and spent the morning cleaning and checking it out, spinning it with a drill gave 7-8 volts, so at least I can tell him it works!

Re: Singles breather elbow ball bearing
There is a very thin split pin (or wire similar size) that should fit through a hole drilled in the theaded part of the elbow , you will need to file the pin so it does not obstruct the thread. I think the ball is around 3/16" (don't have one to compare), but there is some thought that the ball...
