Re: Stolen Frame?

Where do you live? Here in Quebec the provincial police can check a frame number to see if it is on their list of stolen goods.

I've found it helps to not be too quick to put it in gear i.e. after pulling in the clutch lever, give it several seconds before lifting the gear selector lever with your foot.

Re: Banishing Brass Monkeys from the Garage / Workshop.

Hello Paul,
That heated clothing sounds like a good idea for working in your garage. You could get your wife some too and then you wouldn't have to heat the house!

Re: cams and carbs

I don't think new 275 carbs for your NG are being made and it looks like the 276 carbs for your friend are not currently available from Burlen:

Re: SQ4 how to advance valve timing

Allan,
Pleas excuse me if I am not understanding your above message. If you want to alter the timing from 112 deg. towards 105 deg. can't you use the crankshaft sprocket keyway Number 111 on the below diagram instead of keyway Number 1?

Removing & Installing Sq4 motor Part 3

After lowering the jack such that the motor now sat on the plywood assembly which was sitting on the rods, it was simple to slide the motor to the left of the bike, pick it up and carry it to the work table. Don't drop it! 12A.jpg The plywood assembly is in place to receive the motor when it will be...

These two nuts prevent the drill rods from spreading apart. A couple of screws are screwed into the top support block to preven...

Removing & Installing Sq4 motor Part 1

The following describes a method I came up with to make installation and removal of my 1946 Square Four motor into and out of the frame easier. The first time I tried to install the motor in the frame I started by attaching the crankcase to the engine plates and the frame, with the pistons on the co...

A5, 1085-36 Big End Bearing For Sale

This is a new A5, 1085-36 big end bearing which I bought from Draganfly a few years ago. It still has the protective coating on it. The on-line Alpha catalogue lists quite a few machines that this bearing fits: 1934-40 Red Hunter, LG, LH, Deluxe, OG, OH 1933-59 NF, NH, NG, Red Hunter etc. 1928-31 2 ...
