Hello Paul,
That plug looks fine to me. If I found a plug looking like that in either of my two bikes I'd stop fiddling with the carb right then!

Hi Frank,
I think that is Corn Head grease you are talking about.

Re: E3LM Field Coil replacement

Hello Bevan, You haven't mentioned how you or your repair person cleaned the brushes. You might be able to resurrect the original brushes if you try cleaning them with Ebbe Hoffner's method which you will find at the bottom of this message he submitted to the e-mail chat group back in 2009 (I hope E...

Re: E3LM Field Coil replacement

Hello Bevan,
I replaced the field coil on my VH a few thousand miles ago without using an expander tool and haven't any problems with it (knock on wood!). The coil came with the correct shape. I can't recommend the supplier as it seems his on-line presence has disappeared.

Re: Need help with 1948 NH big end side play

I think you will find that the .008/.012" end float that you refer to is for end float of the crank in the cases not con-rod in wheels. I have never seen a figure for the side play Hello Roger, It looks like Gary is correct about the side play specification. This is from Section B, Page 4 of t...

Re: Wanted: 1955 Sq4 Petrol Tank

Hello Chris,
Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your experience. My friend has been offered an original Ariel tank for a very good price by another Forum member. We'll see if he takes advantage of a good opportunity.

Wanted: 1955 Sq4 Petrol Tank

A friend of mine who also lives in Canada has recently acquired a 1955 Sq4 with a petrol tank beyond repair. Does anybody have one for sale? Or, failing that, has anyone had a recent, good experience with an Indian built tank? Draganfly's web site says no longer available.

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought

Paul,
I'm not sure but it looks like your measurements correspond to the clip I have if one spreads the two "legs" apart! Anyway, send me a PM with your address if you want me to mail the clip over the pond.

Re: Lucas MCR2 clip sought

Paul,
If you don't succeed in making one of those clips, I could mail the spare I have to you but I don't know if it is a 391453 or a 390381. Also I don't know the difference between those two numbers.
