Re: Lack of power

I agree, the last thing you want to do is shorten the barrels, after all, you have paid for the rebore right to the top! If you want to evaluate the effects of a low CR My solution would be to get a pair of heads, skim their faces and then re form a reduced 'top hat' volume to bump the CR back up. I...

Re: Lack of power

110 is enough to give you good performance but Unless you have had the barrels shortened, the Suzi Pistons will only give a CR of around 8.3 : 1. More experienced members say that this is not detrimental but I somewhat sceptical and think that a return to 10:1 must be beneficial. If you don't suspec...

Re: Lack of power

Hi
I doubt that the expansion boxes would make have a significant effect, have you done a compression test, ideally looking for approaching 150psi. What type of Pistons have you fitted?
Assume you have rechecked ignition timing and carb settings

Hi Brian Thanks for the document copy, some useful and straightforward information here which may also be helpful to our other members. I will contact Paul about getting a certified copy of my original log book and have emailed DVLA for a V55/5, not likely to be on the road in time for The Banbury R...

Hi Brian

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I would appreciate a copy of the article if you can come up with it, the bike is not finished but think I should be working on this process in parallel to avoid disappointment!

V5 needed

Hi
Can you give me some advice on how do I go about / who do I speak to regarding obtaining the V5?
I have the old log book on which I am the last named owner, the serial numbers are unchanged as is the colour.
Should be a simple administrative procedure, right?

Many thanks
Ivor

Re: Arrow Torque Setting

Thanks for all the replies on high compression heads and torque setting, it will be good to finish the engine build using this info. Although the 12:1 heads seemed like a good idea when I was a teenager, it may not have been one of my better moves and, as they were brand new heads, I will see if I c...

Re: Arrow Torque Setting

Thanks BH and yes, its a genuine inquiry despite it being April Fools Day. I would be interested in knowing the source of the torque data and if extends to some of the other important fixings on the bike. I think the manual does specify a torque for the crankshaft centre bolt but its the only one I'...
