WD 40 Type Liquids
Hi I'm sure I'm not the only one who is fed up with paying exorbitant prices for aerosols of WD 40! back in the day when I was a young 'apprentice' it used to be available as a liquid in several sizes of cans. I see that you can still buy it in 5L quantities for upwards of £35, I've also seen a prod...

Hi
I'd try acetone in an ultrasonic cleaner if you have access to one, if not, put the taps into a screw top jar and cover with acetone and leave as long as required, (shouldn't take too long).

Hi
That shock absorber spring looks to be very compressed, are you sure the sprocket is correct for your engine?

Thanks Lee
Keen to have a go myself, any links to suppliers or good 'how to' videos? What masking did you use?

Re: A 28 model E
Hi Lee
Love the work you are doing on this restoration, must be very satisfying for you. Did you line the tank by hand, and if so, where did you source the paint and brushes? (I too have a tank painted and awaiting lining).

Re: Gearbox Noise
Hi Simon Further thoughts based on your findings: The noise reducing to zero as the main shaft slows when the clutch is pulled in suggests contacts either from the clutch or the gearbox, (have you tried putting a screwdriver onto them and your ear on the handle / can you identify the source? The noi...

Re: Gearbox Noise
Hi Simon
It sounds, (sic), like it could be due to an increase in temperature, possibly gearbox oil warming up, does pulling in the clutch have any effect on the noise? Have you tried the 'stethoscope' test with a long screwdriver?

I found the information in the Draganfly catalogue lacking in where exactly to take the measurement, the diagram kindly supplied in this thread clarified it:

Re: wanted
Hi
The 56 parts list suggests that the forward chainguard is common to both the FERC and rear chainguard.

Re: wanted
Hi
Do you have the original forward part of the FERC? I did and assume it's because the gearbox sprocket has to be removed in order to remove it.
