I had similar problems with my VH. I kept swapping between a reconditioned and an old magneto with no difference. I tried Champion plugs which seemed slightly better. Ariels handle well and my riding companion remarks I go round corners faster on my VH than on my V7C Guzzi. But the forks could hardly be more primitive. I can recommend a 12V conversion. I use a JG unit which has been 100% reliable. Mind you it did burn out the ancient dynamo fitted to my VH. :oops: The rewound unit has been perfect.
