Re: Twist throttle to suit 1927 Model A

Hi All, Can someone please recommend where I can obtain a throttle to suit my ModelA? Thanks, Richard Western Australia G'day Richard, Try the attached link. They seem to make authentic looking straight pull reproductions. I would go for the standard length for your '27. http://www.motomaniastore.c...

Re:

Never been on a pillion but they look good. I made one on the G-special but that one is to prevent you fall off when you accelerate. I made one on the AJS racer but that is a soft one for getting in raceposition and it is quite comfy...Chris G'day Chris, How about some photo's of the Model G for al...

Re: Not much wrong with this 1929 F

Except the price Was the clutch dome detachable in 29, Had a look through Dave's book but it is not conclusive. For my 12 000 quid, I'd want the correct dyno and headlight (it should be the SS49 not the H52) and leather fronted toolboxes on the carrier with some of Capt. Jack Sparrows gold coins in...

Re: 1928 Ariel Model A 557cc sv

Hi Dave, As Keith has already detailed, you have a '28 engine in a '27 frame. In fact, it appears you have a '28 gearbox also, since the Sturmey Archer gearbox was not available in the '27 model. The '27 used the Burman Q model gearbox exclusively. The KSA1 maggy is correct for both the '27 & '2...

Sloper and '27 Magdyno's

Hi All,

I have two requests here; can anyone please advise the correct model serial number of the Lucas Magdyno for a '31 Sloper and also for a '27 using an electric light system.

This detail doesn't seem evident in the respective parts books.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

John.

Re: Wanted carrier for 500F 1929

Hi I bought resently a quite original Ariel 500F 1929 without carrier and the headlight (ss49)is empty shell. So does anyone has a carriel (stay tubes I can made myself) and original headlight rim with reflector? The parts condition can be poor but useful. Is there someone who makes toolboxes(leath...

Hi Lionel, Thanks for taking the time to load the second photo and to share the background and history. It certainly makes for an interesting story if tinged with some sadness. The bike is a beautiful example with all the accessories and no expense spared, including a period speedometer driven off t...

Hi Lionel, Thanks for that. I look forward to seeing it if you can work it. I also have a photo of my grandfather on his motorcycle but it is a '26 Harley! I am particularly interested in your photo's as I'm building a very similar model "C" i.e. without the valenced guard. These are a rar...

Hi Lionel, What a great photo to have of your grandfather and on an Ariel to boot! The bike is a 1927 Ariel Model "D". It is a 5hp, 500cc over head valve touring model, so designated because it came with footboards and a valenced front mudguard. I'd be interested to see other photo's if yo...
