Just got back from the Lakeside Rally, a good time was had by all in glorius weather, It was such a nice morning on Sunday so no need to put on waterproofs for the home run, I arrived home like a drowned rat.

As you intend to cut bike threads ( most are imperial ) as the machine is probably metric you should check wether you can cut these on it.
I have a Myford which can cut any threads that you can think of but is severly limited by the small spindle bore (3/8")

I used plumbers solder on the fuel tank of my BSA, using a large copper soldering iron you can spread the solder like butter.
more work than filler but longer lasting and feathers out well

If the fuel in you're tank is going stale then you are not doing enough milage to be concerned about valve seat erosion.
