Re: Upcoming auction in Goole - two 1930s Ariel singles
The 250 in the same sale and from the same source would be a better bet, at least it is more original and seemingly without the structural problems of the 1932, yes somewhat less exotic but any 1934 machine is pretty rare, only 97 on the register, only 8 of those are 250.

Good job Jan, makes me wish I had a W/NG even more! I have always assumed that the numbers were applied by the military after delivery from the factory but if the style of numbers varies by manufacturer, perhaps they were applied at the factory. Do you know the truth?

Re: Upcoming auction in Goole - two 1930s Ariel singles
It is basically as described by the auctioneers a 1932 VH with a 1937 NG engine. Original engine C 1039, original frame XF 7297. Last owner was Ian Newton who died a few years back, his widow is a club member. Apart from a wrong engine the way a much later gearbox has been fitted in place of the one...

Re: Square four Barrel nuts.
There is nothing listed in the parts book. The MKI used a couple of extended nuts for this reason, fit as many of these as is convenient.

Re: Lucas H52 Headlamp
The 1st one is OFF, then Charge, High and Low. The charging system is a bit tricky and this is one of the few areas that I would not bother with the original technology unless you you really want to. I convert the 3 brush dynamo to 2 brush, use a modern electronic regulator and rewire the switch to ...
