Re: Stay single when hot!

When I switched from a singleport 500 to a twinport, the drop in performance was noticable. Not as much as what you seem to have experienced however.

However, i'd already invested in a new exhaust system ... and now the single port head/barrel is on another bike.

There is a hardened cap, which goes on the valve stem.

Single cylinder big end quill.

Late timing case with the larger stud which directly feeds the rockers. I have a new quill from drags. I assume where it interference fits in the timing case is just a straight bored hole and mine has the remains of the previous one stuck in there ? You can just see the "step" in the pictu...

Re: Singles - oil gauge takeoff

John On my VH I cut the oil pipe between the two rocker feeds inserted a compression tee. The threads are BSP so you can simply screw in a BSP cone connector into the 3rd take-off. To remove the tank just undo the cone connector. Oil gauge take-off.jpg Pete Liking that - that maybe plan b (waiting ...

Singles - oil gauge takeoff

I wanted to fit a braided flexi oil pipe from the rockerbox take off to my gauge. Repeated tank removal stress fractured the solid one on my other VH500 (more my fault I guess) I know the internal (female) thread at the rockers is 1/4" CEI and the gauge is a replica with a BSP. It seems impossi...

Re: Singles oil pumps

Paul J’s point about over oiling gives me a problem because the older small feed pumps I have are worn out, if I buy a new pump from Draganfly (Hawker) or Morgo, it will have the large bore feed, if I get a pump reconditioned by Draganfly, I understand this will come back with a larger bore feed. I...

BA mainshaft to clutch

I rebuilt my gearbox completely and didn't think to check. Now it, along with the engine, is in the frame and I came to mount the clutch. The mainshaft mount for the clutch is different to all my other Ariels (1940 onwards) - second picture shows a loose end, which is what is on other mainshafts I h...
