I got quotes from both, seemed to have a few hoops to jump through. Eventually got a quote from Peter James (he co-founded FJ) based in brum and seem very reasonable - about £70 for a '57 VH, and they did not argue about AV or ask for anything. I use cellulose, when painting on to chrome, i just get a key with some scotchbrite pad or fine wet and dry paper then apply etch primer, primer filler, top coats.

I have only ever had this issue with a 2 stroke bantam! i found it to be the fuel evaporating from the carb when left warm. Try leaving the petrol tap switched on for a while until the engine cools.

I have had huge issues trying to fit a new exhaust valve guide to a '57 alloy head. Got the old one out no worries but the new one just will not go in! It gets half way then won't budge.
