An additional washer between the float chambe...

Re: ba clutch adjustment
You can easily check the dimensions of the clutch cable against those given on your invoice as 6460-33 Cable 48 1/4″ – 52 1/4″, to make sure that you been sent the right one. The correct adjuster has the recess for the cable ferule at the threaded end, not the hex end so the adjuster goes in from th...

Re: Scottish Bike Show - some Ariels
The 200 Arrow includes one of the more inaccurate potted histories of Ariel, worse than most auctioneers and that is saying something.

Benelli W/NG
I have just identified this fine machine as a post war conversion of a W/NG by Benelli, although there were others I think. It is currently languishing at Llanivet motors should anyone fancy a curio. There was an article about them in Cheval by JM in October 2012. I have a few more pics if anyone in...

Re: Noisy VH engine - Roller mains
Simon - Your are correct about the FH, it is a long time since I worked on one but when the price of lipped roller bearings for SQ4 went through the roof I talked to a tech guy at a bearing specialist who told me that the lip was not there as a thrust face and if the end float was controlled by othe...

Re: Noisy VH engine - Roller mains
Not good to use the lips on rollers for end thrust they are not designed to do that, whereas ball races are. Apparently the lips are intended to act as a sort of safety net.
