Alan - if you're going to start getting into these you might want to have a good look around the 'BSA Otter' website.
Here's a good starting point

Re: NH350 camshaft locking up on assembly.
I've had this problem after fitting new camshaft bushes and pushing one fractionally too far in. I'd ease one bush out a tad (you only need a couple of thou probably) - it could just be the inner radius on the shaft (or a bush) that's binding slightly. All that matters is that the cam lobe or the ca...

Or a 'non-standard' method of reducing the end-float is to gently push the cam bushes closer together! (Or maybe just one of them...)

Re: Full width hub, sprocket does not fit.
There are at least two variations for the Ariel alloy-hub rear sprocket, one with cut-outs and one that's a disc (I've got one of each). Ariel sprockets have 47 teeth, BSA had 42. If a sprocket doesn't have 47 teeth it's not for an Ariel. If you've not found it already there's some discussion in thi...

Re: KH primary chain alignment
Regarding the engine sprockets, here's a pic of what I've been running on the FH engine, note that the 'spigot' on the back is shallower than on the sprocket Will was given as an FH equivalent and in my case the sprocket sits further in towards the inner chaincase. Re: Web site seems slow to load replies.
The post I put in a couple of minutes ago took maybe 1 sec to go through. The Forum performance (which is what we're looking at here) is a bit erratic, but as Will says we're at the mercy of the service providers with this. We're on a shared platform and I suspect they only make adjustments to re-ba...

Re: Frame and swingarm compatibility.
Drags (Roger) have a doc that details the differences between the BSA and Ariel versions of the '56 full-width alloy hub.
(I've stolen it and put it into a 'HowTo' in the members' area 'Howtos' section. )
