Re: Naughty Gearbox

Re: DVLA vehicle search
Yes I am a member and I did ask a few years back but found no-one. His name is Parkhouse and was always called "Bill" but I think his initials on the cheque were A W.

Re: DVLA vehicle search
Yes John it is quoted as Ariel Red Hunter, I too had thought that the registration had been moved to another vehicle. Really strange. I know the name of the person I sold it to and I think he still has it but I have no idea of his address.

Re: DVLA vehicle search
I have checked for my old Red Hunter on DVLA web site and it does not appear to be found, however on the motor insurance database site it shows it as being insured. Anyone have any idea why this should be?

Re: WM3 Rear Rim on 1956 NH
Yes that's what I spotted when checking the Enfield but the new ones come with the 19 inch WM2 rims and 100/90 AM26 tyres! Still, as I said, it certainly works on mine.

Re: WM3 Rear Rim on 1956 NH
I've just rebuilt the front wheel with a stainless WM2 and next is the back. Since the 60s I've always used a 3.50 on a WM2 for the NH rear but I happened to notice the comments from rim and tyre manufacturers and wondered if after all these years I should either be using 3.25 tyre as was the origin...

WM3 Rear Rim on 1956 NH
Bearing in mind the recommended rim for an Avon 3.50 x 19 tyre is WM3, does anyone out there use a WM3 rim on the rear of an NH? Or does anyone know if the extra width will fit between the swinging arms? I am about to rebuild my rear wheel and thought I might take the opportunity to go to WM3.

737 BKE
1957 Ariel Red Hunter NH I sold in 90s which I had had since 1967 and when I moved jobs I lost track of the purchaser who was going to let me see it when restored. I know it is insured but is not showing up as registered with DVLA so where is it now? Would like to be re-aquainted.
