Re: Upcoming auction in Goole - two 1930s Ariel singles

The forks on the 1934 bike are bent. Look at the rear tube top section above the friction discs.

Re: Upcoming auction in Goole - two 1930s Ariel singles

If I am not mistaken, much if not all of the forks on the 1932 bike are 1934 onward type so there is not a lot of 1932 material on the bike.

Re: Ariel rally Československo 2024

Sorry to hear of this setback. We will allow an extra week for you to be fighting fit again. So far, I don’t think you have a good enough reason for avoiding meeting us all - and I know I speak for many of us when I say we want to meet you in person in Slovakia. We can supply a bike for you to ride ...

Re: Wanted front Altette horn bracket (6155-35)

If you look at the 1948 Twins leaflet on the Club website it shows a left hand side view of the KG, with downswept pipes. The horn appears to have the right angle bracket and be fitted to one of the front engine plate studs.

Re: Wanted 350 exhaust pipe

I have a LH downswept pipe, mainly chrome but patches of rust. I also have a pair of upswept pipes in similar condition but the RH one has some added dents. I am sure they could all be made to suit what you want by a little riding through salt and mud.

Re: Ariel Factory Despatch records

Dave, Give me a ring sometime on the number in Cheval. If I know what you are looking for, I can give some guidance as to whether you may find it. The Despatch Books take quite a lot of getting used to but eventually, after about 10 years in my case, you get a "feel" for understanding them...

Re: Find bike registration details from a frame number

It does happen, from time to time, that someone gets the original registration number back by means of the frame number. I managed it for Geoff Brown some years ago via the Cheshire Archives but DVLA wouldn't accept that particular approach these days. Richard Thomasson got his original number back ...

The cone in the bottom is purely there to be a guide to get the bottom of the filter over the end of the outlet pipe.

Re: Oil filter

There should be an oil filter in the tank but the 1958 version is very different from the up to 1955 version. It will fit the 1" hole you have but at the bottom, has a cone with a hole in the narrow end which fits over the end of the delivery pipe in the tank. So the late version filters the oi...
