I do actually appear to have solved the problem.

I did the cam oil level mod and got a bit enthusiastic.

By lowering the drain level, the problem seems to have been cured. It is still higher than the level with the un modified case.

David Anderson provided the attached (I think) I have done the mod. Just be careful not to put the new hole to high up or you'll end up with too much oil in the outer case.
